1. Pin only your best blog posts

With Pinterest – it is not about how many post you pined, its about keywords and what users are searching for. Therefore, you mustn’t pin every blog post you create, you will get the best result if you pin only your blog posts with trending topics that already have audience on Pinterest.
This means that you will have to do some research to know what people are already pinning on your blog post topics on Pinterest. Pinterest has a search which yoiu can use to find keywords in the site.

2. Choose or design your pin Image carefully

To choose an image for your blog post pin is a very important decision you will have to make. A nice image will encourage users to share your post.
You should choose an image that is eye-catching and at the same time related to your blog post content. You want to invite people to click on the pin to link to your blog. The image should identify with your blog post content to every Pinterest users.

Note that: you may also re-use your blog post image as a pin. Always choose images that conveys the idea of your blog post. Taken out of context, the image may appear to be meaningless. You can also design a new image for a particular blog post pin.

3. Write to description of your pin

The description of the pin appears right under the pin image – which provides additional information about your post, this is why you must always remember write a pin description.
The description you wrote about your post appears anytime someone pins directly from your blog. Pinterest users can actually delete your own description and write their own description.

A maximum of 500 characters can be used in writing a Pinterest pin description.
Web addresses and hashtags can be included for direct search link in description.

4. Make sure you add the “Pin It” button to your blog post

Pin It” button makes it easy for your blog visitors to pin your blog post. If you add the “Pin It” button to your blog – you will provide all the necessary pin description information. By so doing your blog visitor can easily click the button and pin your post quickly with ease.
You will have to choose an image and set a default description for anyone who pins your post directly from your blog.

5. Pin Your Blog Post

Once you create a pin for your blog post you should be the first to pin your blog post. Not necessary for those who don’t have a Pinterest account.
If you don’t have a Pinterest account you can’t make your blog post to appear in Pinterest, by so doing you only created a pin for someone else to use, which is not bad, it can still promote your post anyway.

For WordPress users this will be very easy for you guys, you might use the blog statistics in JetPack plugin or Google Analytics plugin, this will show traffic coming from Pinterest to a website.
